Dough
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 50 g sugar
- 25 g fresh yeast
- 250 ml milk lukewarm
- 1 piece egg
- 100 g butter softened
- 1 teaspoon salt
Filling
- 100 g butter softened
- 100 g sugar
- 2 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
2. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm milk, then add to the dry ingredients along with the egg and softened butter. Mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
4. Roll out the dough into a rectangle. Spread the softened butter for the filling, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
5. Fold the dough in thirds, then cut into strips. Twist each strip and form into a knot.
6. Place the knots on a baking sheet and let rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
