Ingredienser

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ½ teaspoon red chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon cumin seeds
  • ½ teaspoon carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 small potato, thinly sliced
  • ½ cup spinach leaves, chopped
  • as needed Oil for frying

Instruktioner 

  1. In a bowl, mix gram flour, water, salt, turmeric, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, and carom seeds to make a smooth batter.
  2. Add sliced onion, potato, and chopped spinach to the batter. Mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  4. Drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove pakoras with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.
